Mirror adhesive is an industrial adhesive, classified as a single-component curing neutral silicone adhesive. It is mainly used for the installation of glass and aluminum alloy doors and windows, as well as for the construction of exposed frame glass curtain walls. It can also be used for bonding and sealing materials such as cosmetic mirrors and painted glass. This product has good extrudability within the temperature range of -4°C to 40°C, and after curing, it has a temperature resistance range of -50°C to 200°C. It does not corrode metal, marble, and other building materials, and has characteristics of resistance to ultraviolet light, ozone, and water. [1] [5] [7]
Mirror adhesive is divided into alcohol-based and non-alcohol-based types, with various brands available in the market. Packaging specifications are mostly 300ml plastic cartridges. [2-4] [6-9] The surface drying time of some products does not exceed 180 minutes, with a storage period of 9 months, and complies with the GB/T 14683-2003 standard. [9]
During construction, a caulking gun should be used at a 45-degree angle for extrusion, the bonding surface must be dry and clean, and any powder spray or aluminum alloy coating must be removed. Construction is not suitable when the material surface temperature is below 6°C or above 40°C. [2-4] [6-9]
The product should not be used for structural sealing or in contact with greasy materials, and some models have passed Q/BYHG 5 and ASTM C1184 certification. [2-4] [6-8]
Ventilation should be maintained during construction, and uncured adhesive should be kept away from the eyes.
1. Mirror adhesive is single-component curing, convenient to use, with good extrudability and thixotropy in the temperature range of -4°C to 40°C. It can be directly applied using a caulking gun.
2. Neutral curing, non-corrosive to metals, coated glass, concrete, marble, granite, and other building materials, with wide applications.
3. Excellent aging resistance, UV resistance, and ozone resistance, maintaining good elasticity after curing in the range of -50°C to 200°C.
4. Shows excellent bonding performance with most building materials and is compatible with other neutral silicone adhesives.
5. Widely used in various building door and window installations, exposed and semi-concealed glass curtain wall installations, metal structure expansion joints, and some industrial applications.
